LSB Workgroup teleconference details

Printer-friendly version

This the *new* number we started using last week: +1 218 936-7999 546639# please make a note of it - update your calendar reminders, etc. this is a new service, we still need feedback that it works out correctly for everyone, esp. callers from outside the USA. I don't want to prepare a heavy agenda for today as some people will be away (including Jeff L.). So just a general topic, we'll open the floor to whomever wants to comment on any of these items or anything else: LSB 4.0 - we have about nine weeks while the new-features development window is open. These items have had a lot of discussion, but nothing has really gotten to the point of going in to the specification/tools/etc. : Java : packaging - uplift, ease-of-use, Berlin API, etc. : scanning support : crypto (I know some doc work is happening here) The following items are in progress: : multi-version sdk tools (hammering out some final issues before autobuilds work) : best-effort dynamic linking

There are not a lot of new agenda items, but it seems
we could update on some of the ones raised last week
(sorry, forgot to send out notes, I'll try to go
back and do those).

The LSB Workgroup regular teleconference is on for
today. This the *new* number we started using recently:
+1 218 936-7999 546639#

please make a note of it - update your calendar
reminders, etc. this is a new service, we still
need feedback that it works out correctly for
everyone, esp. callers from outside the USA.

LSB 4.0 - we have about eight weeks while the
new-features development window is open. These
items have had a lot of discussion, but nothing
has really gotten to the point of going in to
the specification/tools/etc.

: Java
: packaging - uplift, ease-of-use, Berlin API, etc.
(these are separate tasks on the schedule, not
all with the same priority)
: scanning support
: crypto (I know some doc work is happening here)

The following items have initial implementations avail:

: multi-version sdk tools (autobuilds now work,
but there are some remaining issues - e.g. appchk)
It should be possible to start trying from snapshots
: best-effort dynamic linking

A patchset to add libcairo has been attached to
bug 1858. I know we consider this a "nice to have"
but since the work has now been contributed, shall
we go ahead and merge it in?

Reminder: there will be an LSB BOF at OLS in two weeks.
