LSB conf call notes for 2008-09-24

Printer-friendly versionStew Benedict, Ron Hale-Evans, Alexey Khoroshilov, Brian Proffitt, Robert Schweikert, Dalibor Topic, Russ Herrold, Ted Tso. app checker rpm? Alexey: preparing next version of app checker. Needing to fix issue with appchk being in native format, or use best-effort. Running into issue with best-effort; seems to re-run with ld-linux. Will make RPM version of that available. Two versions: local version, and bundle version. Bug list. 1209: get with Mats and examine blocker bugs; should they be closed, bumped to P1, unblocked? 1796: new spec wording submitted today by Alexey; needs review. Russ: sent email to a C++ guy he knows. 1895. Done for 4.0? Stew: still need a man page. Jeff: assign to Ron? Assigned. 1990: Is this an issue? 2004: not done; should be doable 2034: Stew: did have some segfaults on some appbat apps, which were fixed, so this may be fixed as well. 2083: Ron: about 50 man pages to write. Probably won't be done before 4.0. Jeff: support is there; still need to check that it works. Could script the creation of the man pages. Ted: might want to make sure that the non-stack-check functions are in the LSB for all the stack check functions (like not having gets but having __gets_chk). 2111. Jeff: sense is that we should relax the POSIX requirements on atime updates. Kay: will check if that's an issue. Jeff: people would have started seeing problems on hardy. Ted: RHEL 5? Russ: noatime isn't documented, and doesn't seem to be the default. Kay: looks like we're good. Ted: relatime may become the default, but we can't mandate that people turn noatime off.
